On the afternoon of July 24, 2017, Professor ZHANG Ying, Associate Dean of the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University of Rotterdam, the Netherlands was invited to give lecture on "How to publish academic papers in high-level journals" at Room 612, Siyuan East Building, Beijing Jiaotong University.

Professor ZHANG Ying has been rated as the best business school professor in "Best 40 Under 40" and elite professional women in National Association of Professional Women by the United States in 2015. China Speaker Bureau conferred one of the distinguished speakers of Chinese research to her. Also, Professor ZHANG Ying is a visiting professor of well-known universities such as Harvard University (Business School, Law School), Shanghai Jiaotong University and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Her research involves global economic transformation and enterprise development, organizational culture of globalization and localization, social entrepreneurship, higher education management and other areas.

The lecture was very interactive. Professor ZHANG Ying would like to base the lecture on the real needs of the students. She started from the purpose why the students study for a Ph. D. Then, she analyzed how to achieve goals step-by-step and stressed the importance of happiness as well. Finally, she helped the students understand the true meaning of publishing high level papers—publishing papers is just a link of happy life. Professor ZHANG Ying believes that the level of academic research is divided into three levels. One is practical value: the results of research can be applied to practice, which can guide the practice of activities; the second is of academic value: from one to more, the results of research are universal, can provide reference and direction for academic research; the third is social value: in macro level, the results of research can affect government decision-making, national policy and contribute to society. During the lecture, Professor ZHANG Ying has repeatedly stressed the opportunity of China, because compared with the West countries, China has been in the transition stage, the speed of change can be described as changing every day. China can benefit from western research methods, research perspectives based on its’ own cases, also researchers can take those very good opportunities to publish high level papers.

In the “Q&A” part, Professor ZHANG Ying answered questions from participating teachers and students. She also transmitted the concepts on teaching, research and other aspects of first-class business school. She gave some practical examples to answer the questions. Professor ZHANG Ying’s lecture make the teachers and students benefit a lot, which is of great value to how to choose the research topic, how to conduct research, and how to publish academic papers. Meanwhile, it strengthened the academic exchanges between the School of Economics and Management and Rotterdam School of Management.

鹿特丹管理学院副院长张颖教授应邀来经管学院进行学术讲座

2017年7月24日下午，荷兰伊拉斯姆斯大学鹿特丹管理学院副院长张颖教授应邀，于北京交通大学思源东楼612为经管学院师生作“如何在高水平期刊发表学术论文”主题讲座。

张颖教授于2015 年被美国Poets & Quants 评为全球40 位40 岁以下（"Best 40 Under 40"）最佳商学院教授，美国国家职业女性协会（National Association of Professional Women）精英职业女性，是China Speaker Bureau 授予的中国问题杰出发言人之一以及哈佛大学（商学院，法学院）、上海交通大学和上海财经大学等知名高校的客座教授，其研究涉及经济转型和企业发展、组织文化的全球化和本土化、社会创业、高等教育管理等诸多领域。

张颖教授一反常规的论文各部分写作方法指导，以更高的站位，更高的视角，从人生规划讲出大道理。整场讲座以互动为主，张颖教授从同学们的需求入手，首先了解同学们读博的目的，然后逐步引导分析如何实现目标，这期间还强调快乐的重要性，最后使同学们领悟到发表高水平论文背后的真谛——发表论文只是幸福快乐人生中的一个环节。张颖教授认为学术研究水平共分为三个层次，一是具有实践价值：研究的成果可应用到实务当中，可指导实践活动；二是具有学术价值：从一到多，能具有普适性，为学术研究提供参考和方向；三是具有社会价值：宏观层面，影响政府决策、国家政策，为社会做贡献。讲座过程中，张颖教授多次强调中国的机遇，因为和西方相比，中国一直处在转型阶段，变革速度突飞猛进，可谓每天都在变化，应该将国外的研究方法、研究视角运用到中国，我们的角色是侦查现象、解释现象，最终提出政策建议。最后张颖教授提出在撰写过程中只有不断关注国内外时事,每天思考总结，才能有新的突破，发表出高水平文章。张颖教授的讲座既有立足国际顶尖商学院敏锐洞察理论前沿的切身体会，又有基于多年教学科研所获得的真知灼见，许多观点都令与会人员耳目一新、豁然开朗。

讲座的最后，张颖教授与在场的师生热烈互动，也向大家传递了国际一流商学院教学、科研等方面的先进理念，并用生动形象的例子就同学们提出的问题进行了解答。张颖教授的讲座使师生们受益匪浅，对大家如何选题、如何开展研究、如何发表学术论文提供了有力帮助，同时也加强了经管学院的学术交流，拓宽了同学们的视野，营造了良好的对外交流与学术氛围。
